I descend from Jared Talbot of Tauton, Mass circa 1664.
Capt. Jared Talbot was the son of Jared Talbot and Sara Andrews.
Here is an interesting note on his life: CHILD NOTES:
Captian Jared TALBOT Military: In the 1707 attack against the French Fort at Port Royal, Nova Scotia, Capt. Jared was Captian of the 5th Grenediers, of the Blue Regiment. Several attacks on the Fort failed. Captian Jared Talbot with fourty men were placed as a guard on the shore in an orchard as the last of the English troops were boarding the ships to return to Boston. About 110 French ambushed the guard killing 7 englishmen before being repulsed.

I have back to the 1600's Jared Talbot in Taunton, Massachusetts, USA.
I was on the St. Lawrence Seaway!
I have family that were in Quebec in the 1600's.
I have traced my family line back to Anne Talbot that married Jean Gareau-St.-Onge in 1668.
I have in fact both of my family lines that go back to two of their children.
One goes to their son Dominique Gareau ( my Gareau line) and to his sister Marie Gareau that married Jean-Baptiste Lamoureux in 1690...
From this line I can trace them down to my D'Avignon side... D'Avignon and Gareau lines were my Gr-Grandparents.

This is of the USS TALBOT taken in 1976. The TALBOT was a guided missile frigate named after Commodore Silas Talbot who was a revolutionary war hero.
